The Morton Arborertum Bulletin of Popular Information was a monthly community outreach and public educational publication. During her tenure as staff naturalist, May Watts produced these pamphlets on various environmental subjects. Each yearly volume of pamphlets has been bound into one hardbound book as archived copies. This article focused on soil conservation and told the story of several different soil erosion issues and how those problems were solved. Watts liberally used clever pen and ink drawings to illustrate her information. In this case we see buried topsoil treasure retrieved from an Arboretum lake, as well as the burial of "A. Gully".
