The Sterling Morton Library of the Morton Arboretum
This activity book was written to help children learn how to identify common butterfiles, plants, animals and fish. My Nature Book was innovative in its interactive approach to teaching young children about nature through seeing and doing. By cutting out the pictures and matching them to a silhouette, children learned by appearance and the associated description of habitat. It was one of the first types of "sticker" book. Watts' plan was to publish several different books of this sort. Her publisher turned down her attempts to publish additional titles due to insufficient sales.
